Behind the Diapers...
SDF currently offers three different styles of diaper.
Pocket: This diaper has an outer waterproof layer and a stay-dry inner layer and features a pocket opening. A pocket diaper requires an insert (hemp, microfiber, prefolds, etc) to be placed in the diaper to act as the absorbent layer. Some people use a combination of various types of inserts. SDF pocket diapers do not come with inserts. As with all pocket diapers, you will need to change both the diaper and insert with each wear. You do not need a separate cover with pocket diapers.

Printed Pocket: This diaper has an outer printed layer, an middle waterproof layer and a stay-dry inner layer and features a pocket opening. A pocket diaper requires an insert (hemp, microfiber, prefolds, etc) to be placed in the diaper to act as the absorbent layer. Some people use a combination of various types of inserts. SDF pocket diapers do not come with inserts. As with all pocket diapers, you will need to change both the diaper and insert with each wear. You do not need a separate cover with pocket diapers.

Stuffable Fitted: This diaper has an outer layer of cute printed fabric, a hidden layer of thirsty hemp and a stay-dry inner layer that features a pocket opening. This type of fitted should be used with an insert (hemp, microfiber, prefolds, etc) to add more absorbancy. Some people use a combination of various types of inserts. SDF stuffable fitteds do not come with inserts. Fitted diapers do require a cover. With fitteds you can use the cover multiple times before washing but must replace the diaper each time.

SDF also offers training pants.
Waterproof In-Training Pants: The SDF In-Training Pants feature three layers of fabric plus a sewn-in hemp soaker. The waterproof trainers consist of an outer layer of PUL, an inner layer of hemp, a sewn-in hemp soaker and a knit inner layer. The inner layer is knit to help child feel wet. Please keep in mind that the trainers are not meant to hold as much as a diaper. They reduce leaks, rather than completely eliminate them, so you should be able to tell right away that your toddler is wet.
Non-Waterproof In-Training Pants: The SDF In-Training Pants feature three layers of fabric plus a sewn-in hemp soaker. The non-waterproof versions consist of an outer layer of knit, inner layer of hemp, a sewn-in hemp soaker and a knit inner layer. The inner layer is knit to help child feel wet. Please keep in mind that the trainers are not meant to hold as much as a diaper. They reduce leaks, rather than completely eliminate them, so you should be able to tell right away that your toddler is wet.
